Guess the CS2 map from a cropped screenshot
Guess the Map is a visual Counter-Strike 2 map quiz. You are shown a deliberately tight crop from a playable area, then asked to identify the map before the scene gives away too much. It rewards spatial memory, textures and map geometry rather than a lucky logo guess.
How to play
- Study the small visual clue: architecture, props, materials, lighting and sightline shape can all matter.
- Search for a map name and submit the location you think the crop came from.
- After a miss, use the reveal and hint progression to update your read instead of repeating the same guess.
What can appear in the map pool?
The pool focuses on recognisable CS2 locations across the active map ecosystem, including Ancient, Anubis, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, Train and Vertigo. A clue may come from a bombsite approach, connector, hallway, room, exterior area or distinctive piece of cover. The crop intentionally removes the minimap and most of the surrounding context.
How to read a difficult CS2 map clue
The hardest rounds are built from ordinary spaces rather than famous landmarks. Look for combinations: wall material plus trim, the direction of a doorway, floor texture, ambient colour, railing shape, cover height and the way a corridor opens into a larger area.
- Geometry: identify whether the camera is in a lane, connector, bombsite edge, stairwell or interior room.
- Visual language: compare stone, tile, wood, concrete, signage, vegetation and lighting between maps.
- Context control: the image is a game clue, not a full tactical reference; the missing context is part of the challenge.
Curated visual locations
Source: a curated set of local CS2 scene captures. Method: each round points to one map record and one focal point; the source frame is cropped and progressively revealed so the answer depends on visual context rather than a minimap or full layout. These images are not complete maps, official callout references or tactical guides, and a game update can change how a location looks.

Frequently asked questions
How does the CS2 map quiz work?
You see a tightly cropped screenshot from a CS2 map, search the map list and submit a guess. An incorrect guess gives you more visual information so you can reassess the location.
Which CS2 maps are included?
The curated pool includes familiar maps such as Ancient, Anubis, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, Train and Vertigo. The exact clue is selected from a smaller area inside the map, not from a full-map image.
Is this a CS2 map callout quiz?
It uses map recognition skills that help with callouts, but it asks for the map name rather than a specific callout. Use architecture, materials, props and geometry to narrow the answer.
Why are the map screenshots cropped so tightly?
A close crop makes the game depend on visual memory instead of giving away a map through a minimap, landmark or large section of the layout. Reveals gradually add context after a wrong guess.
Can I play Guess the Map with a friend?
Yes. Friend Play lets you create or join a private room for the map challenge. Both players can compare their reads without a login or Steam connection.
Do I need Steam or an account for the CS2 map quiz?
No. The map quiz runs in a browser and does not require Steam, an account or a download.
